How to let your AI agent buy from any online store

Buying with an agent shouldn't feel like a downgrade

"Consumers are used to Amazon speed, and agentic purchases have so far felt like a downgrade."

Karen Serfaty, our CEO, wrote that on 30 October 2026, when we launched opencommerce. Most agents spend minutes finding products before they come back with results.

opencommerce gives your agent one buy tool that searches catalogues and makes purchases in under 20 seconds, across 5,000+ online stores, through a single endpoint. Karen's launch video shows it working.

How fast is it?

On our public monitoring page on 31 October 2026, the first response took 8.3 seconds at Amazon, 7.4 at Walmart and 8.1 at Target. We measure speed at every store we monitor and keep working on it.

How does one tool reach 5,000 stores?

Your agent passes the tool what the shopper asked for. Agentcard searches the stores and sends the shopper product cards, then builds the cart for the one they pick. The shopper says yes to the cart and approves the payment on their phone with a passkey. Agentcard places the order, and your agent gets every update to pass on, up to delivery.

You don't build merchant integrations or run an agent browser.

Besides products from online stores, the same tool handles food delivery, table reservations and flights.

How do I know a store works before my shopper asks?

We test the purchase flow at each monitored store, from search to checkout, and the results are public. We run thousands of tests every couple of hours. The monitoring page shows each store's success rate, its last run and 45 days of history.

Your code can ask the same question. The merchants endpoint tells you, for any store you name, whether Agentcard can buy there, and why not when it can't.

What if the agent buys the wrong thing?

If your shoppers pay with their own card through the Agentcard Vault, the purchase looks like any other purchase to their bank. If the agent makes a mistake, they can dispute the charge straight from their bank statement, the same as any other charge.

On top of that, we insure up to $250 per purchase for mistakes the agent makes. And we keep a record of who approved each purchase, when and from where.

How do I add it to my agent?

Run one command in your app's folder:

npx agent-cards@latest init

Then follow the Commerce SDK quickstart.
